1966 US Open

With a seven stroke lead over Billy Casper in the 1966 US Open, Arnold Palmer threw caution to the winds and, with nine holes left, decided to go for a PGA record. After shooting five over par for the next eight holes (10-17), Palmer made par on the 18th, found himself in a tie with Casper, and lost in the Monday playoff.
