While working on his bestselling book, Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right, Al Franken jokingly wrote to conservative advocates of abstinence education, inviting them to send stories of their own heroism in this regard for an inspirational book for young people to be entitled "Savin' It!"
"Don't be afraid," he urged President George W. Bush and U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft, "to share a moment when you were tempted to have sex, but were able to overcome your urges through willpower and strength of character."
