In February 2005, Charlie Sheen made a guest appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman."
"I was here about fifteen years ago," he told his host, "and there's a lot of pressure when you come on this show... to have an interesting story or a cute anecdote or something to be smart and funny... And I said that I had been mugged on the way to your show, that I was handing the cab driver a hefty tip and somebody reached through the window and grabbed the money... And I'm here to tell you tonight, fifteen years later, that it never happened!"
["Well, it takes a big man to admit this," Letterman joked, "but Charlie, I'm going to have to ask you to leave."]
