Douglas-Away

After Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser's funeral, British foreign secretary Sir Alec Douglas-Home returned to his plane for the flight home. As it was the local cocktail hour, the steward asked him what he would like to have with his ice. "What time is it in London?" he asked. "Four o'clock," the steward replied. "Very well then," Sir Alec replied, "I'll have a cup of tea."

[When tea was first introduced in the American colonies, many housewives mistakenly served the tea leaves with sugar or syrup, after throwing out the water in which they had been boiled.]
