Thirteen months after her marriage to producer Mike Todd (in 1957), Elizabeth Taylor was horrified to learn that Todd's private plane had crashed into a mountain. Todd died, leaving Taylor a desolate, near-suicidal widow and their 6-month-old daughter, Liza, without a father. The name of Todd's plane? Lucky Liz.
