During a performance one evening, Eve Arden was surprised to hear a telephone ringing beside her onstage. Her leading man was having a bit of fun with her. Prompted by the barely suppressed smile on his face, Arden answered the phone, turned to the aspiring prankster, and said, "It's for you."
