So fond of cigars were producers Dan Staley, Rob Long and Tom Anderson that they selected an unusual corporate logo for their Los Angeles-based Staley/Long Productions: two cigars in an ashtray. Shortly after the first airing of their logo sequence, the company received an irate letter from the American Lung Association. How did the producers address the ALA complaint? They agreed to change the logo sequence -- by adding a cough.
["Our neighbors have called the Paramount security on us a few times," Long once recalled. "He comes in and says, 'There's been a report of cigar smoke.' We say, 'We're shocked.'"]
