Little love was lost between Kinks frontman Ray Davies and his brother Dave (who once co-wrote a song entitled "Hatred (A Duet)," featuring the line "Hatred is the only thing that keeps us together").
One night while dining with Ray in a Manhattan restaurant, Dave made the mistake of trying to steal one of his French fries. Ray's response? He promptly stabbed his brother in the chest with his fork.
["Dave bit my cheek," Ray recalled of another altercation. "I kneed him in the groin." Dave was also regularly clobbered by Kinks drummer Mick Avory (usually with his cymbals). Indeed, on their first tour (in 1965), the Kinks fought so much (and missed so many concerts) that they were banned by the American Federation of Musicians from performing in America for four years.]
