One day during the 2000 presidential election race, George W. Bush was asked by Canadian television host and satirist Rick Mercer how he felt about the support expressed by Canada's "Prime Minister Jean Poutine." "I appreciate his strong statement," Bush replied. "And we'll work closely together."
Bush was later reminded that:
1) Canada's Prime Minister was in fact named "Jean Chretien," and
2) "Poutine" is a favorite French-Canadian dish consisting of French fries coated with gravy and cheese...
