Oxymoron?

Tom Selleck, who took after his father and studied business in college, left business school three credits short to sign a contract with 20th Century Fox.
Years later, the dean of the business school looked over his transcript -- and was astonished: "Tom, this is the most remarkable record," he declared, "of mediocrity that I've ever seen!"

[Selleck's highest grade in his major? C. (While trying to improve his grades, Selleck was told about "an easy A" which could boost his GPA. The class? Theater arts. Selleck enrolled with two friends, was told by his instructor that he might find work doing commercials, and was soon on his way.)]
