While appearing in a West End production of a Noel Coward play early in his career, Rupert Everett received a letter from a female audience member reprimanding him for his "lazy" performance. Everett responded by sending the woman a letter of his own, along with some special treats, "in the hope," he later explained, "that they [would] help to avoid further grievance."
"Please accept my apologies," the letter read in part, "and these few pubic hairs..."
