Vanessa Branch: "When I was 20, I traveled through Tibet into Nepal for two weeks... Now I look back and think, God, it was so dangerous... It was the middle of winter, and we were up about 19,000 feet, almost at the base of Mount Everest, where there were no roads and ice everywhere. So the car skids on ice and spins around like in a movie—the back tires end up hanging over the edge of this 3,000-foot-high cliff. The driver says, 'As quietly as you can, get out of the car.' We pushed the car back onto the ledge and kept going. It was insane."
