In October 2007, a Wisconsin woman's petition to change her last name to bin Laden was dismissed after she failed to appear in court. Caren Ann Burke, 49, of Seymour, Wisconsin, failed to appear at a hearing before Outagamie County Circuit Court Judge Dee Dyer. According to Ms. Burke's petition (filed in August 2007), she wanted to change her name to Caren Ann bin Laden. Her reason? "Divorce from Rory S. Burke."
