While being fitted with a prosthetic belly for her role as a pregnant woman in Wes Anderson’s The Life Aquatic (2004), Cate Blanchett fainted. She awoke on the floor of a makeup room in a London television studio and had no idea where she was: “I was surrounded by black plastic, covered in plaster, naked.” She thought she was dying. After coming to her senses, Cate realized that, apart from a case of teenage food poisoning, her only other fainting spell had presaged the birth of son Dashiell two years before. Sure enough, she soon discovered that she was pregnant again.
